ABUJA – Nigeria’s automotive industry may begin to witness revolutionary leap as Autochek Africa, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of Motor Dealers of Nigeria (AMDON) to build technology solutions for enhanced management of auto dealership across the country.
Etop Ikpe, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Autochek Africa, while speaking during the occasion, expressed hope that the partnership would sanitise the automotive industry in the country.
Ikpe stated that the cooperation, which was geared towards delivering a digital solution to the auto industry, would create database that provide in real-time history of these every car from the time it entered Nigeria to date of purchase.
He insisted that this would ultimately eliminate the incidence of buying stolen vehicles without knowing it, adding that working with AMDON, Autochek would create a more sustainable and structured market place for cars in the country.
“As the partnership evolves, I see us becoming a strong partner to the police and other law enforcement agencies because each car that enters Nigeria will have a history up to the time to the time sold and in whose possession it is at any point in time” he stated.
According to him, the collaboration also offered members of AMDON the opportunity to drive more sales by taking the advantage of the online market place, which increases the visibility of their inventory to potential buyers across the country.
In addition, the Autochek boss stated that through the partnership, AMDON members were introduced to a platform that combines technology and data to create a single market place for car sales, car loans and repairs.
The Autochek boss added that car buyers not only have access to select from a large pool of cars, but also get across to multiple car loan offers from finance partners on the Autochek platform, thereby further driving ease of purchase and auto financing penetration in Nigeria.
Ikpe igitizati that already, Access Bank Plc had signed on to provide auto loan for buyers as well as dealers, urging stakeholders to take the advantage of the opportunities and own their dream cars.
In addition, the partnership, he said introduces a igitization inspection and rating system for cars, thus enhancing customer trust in completing the vehicle purchase process.
“Dealers can also continually take advantage of diverse training programmes on lead management, digital marketing, car loan application process and other advanced technologies to run business,” he added.
